Michaelis has been enhancing the Leipzig hotel and gastronomy scene in diverse ways since 1997. Starting off as a small but fine hotel with comfortable rooms and dedicated staff, the range of the company’s activities has expanded continuously over its now 20-year history.
In addition to our operations in the classic hotel business, we are one of the established giants in event catering of all kinds in the renowned trade fair city of Leipzig. Our customers include well-known companies in the region, and also private individuals who value our culinary quality and book our magnificent services for weddings, anniversaries or other celebrations.
Leipzig is famous for its outstanding culture – we too are inspired by the city's heritage and are proud of the fact that we can provide exclusive catering facilities to guests at such prestigious cultural and media venues as the Gewandhaus and the Museum of Fine Arts.
In addition, at Campus ans Da Capo we operate further gourmet locations which are also regularly used for event catering.
After we opened our Alte Essig-Manufactur in 2013 as a further conference location of our own, this was followed in 2014 by the Salles de Pologne in the former Hotel de Pologne. Starting in 2017, we now also operate Herrenhaus Möckern as a location for weddings and events.
The four pillars of the company
Michaelis hotel & restaurant has been the headquarters of all our activities since 1997, and since then has become a grand complex of hotel with 91 rooms, apartements, conference rooms and convention venues.
The restaurant at Hotel Michaelis is a first-class destination for fine dining at lunchtime or in the evening. We create modern, vibrant cuisine in the restaurant campus. We operate bistros and catering.
We operate eight venues of our own, located in and around Leipzig, for gala events, conferences and meetings. We also are the exclusive caterers for the Gewandhaus and for the Museum der bildenden Künste (Fine Arts) in Leipzig.
